Job Description:

The Technology Portfolio Manager is an IT&S resource who has overall responsibility for working with Digitalization & Strategy to manage the technology portfolio, with day to day activities including: demand gathering, business case review, investment and portfolio prioritization. This resource will also support digital transformation efforts in alignment with the multi-year IT strategy, which involves transitioning the current legacy system landscape to integrate with future digital systems. 

Role Responsibilities: 
• Develop together with Strategy a prioritized, strategic, multi-year Technology Portfolio 
• Drive technology portfolio management in areas including technology demand aggregation and analysis, portfolio governance and reporting 
• Identify opportunities to resolve business pain points, leverage technology and enhance operational efficiency 
• Collaborate with IT management to ensure that all IT projects are structures appropriately and relevant processes are followed 
• Manage relationships with key business stakeholders and understand business needs from various functional areas 
• Help translate business strategy into tangible, complementary IT strategy and programs 
• Specifically, this role has the following responsibilities: 

Strategic Planning and Portfolio Management – 50% 
• Work with Business and IT&S Process Integration Office to identify the technology needs of each department based on Strategy 2025 and translate them into a concrete technology portfolio with budgets and timelines 
• Maintain and update Enterprise Technology Portfolio 
• Ensure strategic alignment on technology initiatives 
• Help drive the development of future state technology architecture 
• Rationalize and modernize the technology landscape in order to evolve toward the future state 

Program Management – 40% 
• Help estimate and analyze cost, complexity and implications on planned IT initiatives 
• Track, manage and report progress of current, ongoing IT initiatives 
• “Go To” person responsible program status, risks and mitigations 
• Manage dependencies and activities with other departments and projects 
• Ability to run multiple challenging projects simultaneously 

SLA Management – 10% 
• Define, evaluation, negotiate SLAs with internal and third party companies 
• Monitor service levels and implement service level improvements

Job Requirements:

Required Skills: 
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms 
• 3 - 5 years of related experience in portfolio management, demand management, and/or technology investment planning 
• Awareness of industry leading solutions, applications and best practices 
• Ability to communicate with senior management 
• 5 - 7 years IT work experience in demand management, technology program management, application development lifecycle, architecture, and /or technology governance 
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Business Administration 
• Microsoft Suite (PPT, Word, Visio, Excel) 

Desired Skills: 
• Master’s degree in a technology related field or MBA 
• Technology related certification such as ITIL, COBIT or TOGAF 
• Previous consulting experience or international work experience a plus 

Possible travel to Auburn Hills, MI 2-3 times a year.
